I am so upset about this constant stream of money being funneled from my pocket to corporate losers, that I am almost speechless, but not completely. Words cannot begin to describe how miffed I am at how poorly our corporations are being run, but despite that I will try. And that our government would sell us out by allowing all these bad loans to be written to encourage eager foreign investors. I personally would love to see all the failing corporations collapse. Only a stronger more fiscally responsible America could rise out of the ashes. But noooOOOooo, we have no sense of accountability, nobody is really at fault, this just happened. Changes will be made after the dust settles; restructuring will be implemented. And rest assured there will be golden parachutes for every executive that is forced out or chooses to move on as a result of this debacle. Those of us who didn’t move our 401Ks to bonds or cash will be miserable penniless wrecks, while the banks and auto manufacturers continue to ride the wave of unlimited up-side with no down-side. What a screwed up economy. Imagine if you as a private citizen could be as careless and irresponsible. Buy all the toys you want, borrow as much money as you want, and then when you can’t pay it back, the government just give you a couple million and calls it even. Why aren’t we rioting in the streets? Why haven’t we toppled these corporate crooks and said no way, we won’t pay? I’ll tell you why, because the American public is weak. We are pacified by television, lotteries, the internet, video games and movies. We are encouraged to escape reality and live in our dreams while we are robbed of our freedom and our security.
I can hear some of you saying that we can’t actually shoot all the executives because they are victims as well, victims of a paradigm they were born into, but that’s just another manifestation of your brainwashing. PEOPLE NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS! Everybody knows that lending money you don’t have to someone who cannot pay it back is stupid. Everybody knows that selling products for less than it costs to make them is stupid. In the same fashion every business person knows that if you do not plan for the eventual replacement of your assets, you will be crushed by your competition. THERE IS NO EXCUSE! If I screw up, I pay for it. If I break something, I pay for it. I don’t care if that means that this country is entirely populated by foreign corporations. If you can’t run a business, you don’t deserve to get bailed out. Let the recession come! Let interest rates climb to 10%. I can’t afford to play the stock market anyway. At least then my savings account will earn something!
Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog. 🙂 Cheers! Sandra. R.
Sandra,
Thank you for posting a comment. I had to wipe the dust from the dashboard in order to read it, but it was a welcome message that momentarily filled me with hope. Unfortunately, that hope quickly withered and became a bitter lump in my throat as the reality and the insignificance of it came crashing down on me. One message in, what, 6 months? HA! I’m wasting my time.
Please tell me you have thousands of devoted fans who do whatever you tell them to. Please? Tell them to visit my website. I’ll write more, honest, I will. I have a dozen stories started, but life is kind of busy right now. Please?
