Today we here at Stupidopolis celebrate 1182 page views by you, our sporadic, veridic, erratic, pedantic, sardonic, acerbic, and pragmatic readers.*
Why 1182? Well, 1182 is the year that the first Sejm, or Polish Parliament, convened at Leczyca. 1182 also happens to be the number of a very important ISO document entitled “Reaction to fire tests for building products”. A bit dry, and incoherent at times, but definitely not something that will keep you up at night.
1182 is also the year that Ghengis Khan’s career really took off. After escaping the Ta’yichiut, he was joined by Jelme and Bo’orchu, two of his future generals. Along with his brothers, they provided the muscle behind many of his early exploits.
And finally, on a more personal note, 1182 just so happens to be my locker number from my Senior year in high school. Ah, such fond memories I have of that locker. Or was that my Junior year?
Anyway, 1182 has come and will pass; another milestone on this fantastic voyage. Congratulations everyone for making this happen, and goodbye 1182!
